Hey Danny, my ex has been voicing this same theory for yeas now. He's in the heating and air business and the government has placed restrictions and eventual bans on "ozone-depleting" refrigerants which has made the price of freon sky roket. And get this... the replacement refrigerant is even more expensive. Global warming...what a great concept for the government to use to justify its involvement and regulation of yet another industry. Govt. regulation means higher prices and more money for the poloticians and special interest groups. While I understand and agree that r-12 and r-22 refrigerants can be depleting the ozone layer, I believe more strongly in the fact that the Earth's orbit is not a perfect circle and we do have cycles when we are closer to the sun and charging heating and air companies $160.00 for a bottle if freon isn't going to solve the problem. Of course the closer we get to the sun, the more we are going to need A/C so maybe the govt. knows what they are doing...did I just say that out loud? lol Great article!!!Myla, the funny thing is that everything in this article is fact--except for the part about the Earth being an uninhabitable water ball in 100 years. I wonder if Al Gore and Company are aware of this? They probably are, and have just decided to ignore it. Humanity makes a much better villain than nature.

So, the fact that 99% of PEER-REVIEWED articles agree that the CLIMATE CRISIS is here doesn't count?Nai'a, I'd be curious to see how you came up with the 99% figure. There are way too many people in the scientific community who have conflicting opinions concerning the topic. The global average temperature increasing seven-tenths of one degree in one hundred years constitutes a crisis? Sheesh. Finally, there are more than only human influences on our climate, and people seem to conveniently ignore that. I only pointed out that our dear Mother Nature pitches in from time to time as well.
Global warming is due to a mixture of things, and yes this may be one of them. But there are other factors too, such as the rise of co2 in the atmosphere.Anyway, a VERY interesting article and it did help me a lot.:)thank you for a POLITE comment. CO2 has nothing to do with climate change.Al Gore is a propaganda machine.CO2 follows the climate change trend, not the other way around.Sun spot activity is what causes higher temperatures.High activity = higher temps and vice versa.Solar wind is another big factor, and when the 2 mix, it creates our weather.The same people profiting from Global Warming are the same ones that were saying just 20 years earlier that there was a Global Cooling crisis and they learned how profitable it was and have revived it now that sun spot activity has been higher than its been in a long time.The high activity even nearly threatened to wipe out orbiting satellites.Its not rocket science really.Sun spot activity being the source of global temperatures was first observed over a thousand years ago.We are nearing the point when the earth is farthest from the sun, aphelion. It was on or close to July 4, 2008. After that time, earth will be slowly getting closer to the sun until January 2 or there about, when earth reaches its closest point to the sun, called perihelion. At aphelion earth is traveling more slowly in its orbit; at perihelion it is traveling a little more rapidly. This is all related to the fact that earth's orbit around the sun is an ellipse and not a circle. Our orbit is close to circular, but it is not a perfect circle. For those in doubt (more than likely northerners who find it hard to believe that our summer is at a time when we are farther from the sun) the earth's seasons are caused by our axial tilt of about 23.4 degrees, and not by relative distance from the sun.
This article was very helpful. Solar maximus will be in 2012 and this may be a time when there is a real problem with global rise in temperature in addition to large scale power grid failure. Leading up to this time we will see that there are people that would like to use these natural events to gain wealth and power by deception and manipulation through the almost total control of the information we recieve. Beware of the going green philosophy, it may just be a ruse to build a New World Order in charge of cleaning things up. They will certainly be cleaning up, but not the way we need. Total control of wealth and power will corrupt absolutely and this global warming go green thing is one aspect of the master plan.
